& I wonder how many more rounds to come...
Rumor: coming March & May; hundreds more heads gonna roll.
As of now, exact figure of casualties:
plant: 230, ~9%.
dept: 8 (Hai-Long, Yun-Kim, Bok-Lan, Sek-Moi, Alice, Siew-Chin, Giak-Khee, Gana).
Some folks are eager to get “beheaded”; for their length of service could land them a hefty severance package. Equivalent to striking 4D/ TOTO!While some are pleading to “stay alive”. Those with family commitments/ age/ limited education/ with new-born/ outstanding housing loans, etc. It ain't easy to secure another job given current economic situation.
My view:
Leaving may not necessary be a bad thing. At least current package is still reasonable.
Staying may not necessary be a good thing
- Imagine the shit you gotta clear when others are gone
- Suffer pay reduction
- Nobody guarantees safety of your head for subsequent rounds & package may differ
So to stay or leave? Heaven knows…
