Couple of guys from my squadron approached me to sign their clearance form. Well, these lucky chaps ORD-ed!! I'm suppose to be happy for them, no doubts I am... ... Just that I am also jealous and do envy them. They are finally relieved off their burden. They have completed their NS liability, freedom is at their disposal.
But take a look at me, I'm still trapped in this bloody "ghost town"; a place where Niao3 Bu4 Shen1 Dan4. Rotting and decaying just like a walking carcass as days passes. I bet girls never know how fortunate they are. They are not required to serve the country (Ha! Talk about equality?). They won't ever know whats Chiong1 Sua1, won't experience stinko uniform, sleeping late or sometimes don't get to rest over days. Survive in jungles ("Marvellous" scenaries), put on yucky camo cream ("Facial" green in color?), endures hunger pangs, etc.
Girls proceed with further studies yet the guys lag behind. We are slower in terms of educational qualification and financial status. So much more to be mentioned, guess that will only flood my blog. Or drive my visitors krazy.
On the bright side, some say its a good experience. Quite true, I did pick up new stuffs, saw things which you won't experience as a civillian. Chiong and sweat together with your mates, building up a bond. Handled weapons, trained to kill (thirsty for blood?) and learnt the art of fighting. Don't offend me ah! Hurhur! To be optimistic, I always tell myself to take this time to do self reflection and to plan for my future.
Weighing the + and -, still the latter weighs more. I'm still unhappy on the fact that I'm wasting 2 years and 4 months of my life. Well, the only consolation I get is I've another 179 days to ORD (look at the counter at the bottom left of my blog) and also when I get to see my LaoPo. She keeps me going.
