1st day of official work in XXX. Wire bonding! Wth am I doing with wire bonding man? It's suppose to be a job filled with prospect and career advancement; according to my agent.
Felt very much cheated...... I'm so stuck to Production with the sucky smock + hair-net + face-mask; instead of my desk in the office area. I've to work closely with Production operators everyday, to resolve machine issues, to improve the process, to bring up Yield and Drawability, to reduce surface damage, etc.
It's more of a fire-man job (fire fighting).
Was pondering why with 30+ yrs of history, these repeatable issues has yet to be solved. What are those Senior Engineers/ Managers busy with? What happened to Engineering/ R&D dept?
Employed as a Process Engineer, I have to change lubricant, shift machines, even scrap gold wires! Wtf! Isn't these the scope of technicians/ operators?
I've suggested a few improvements only to be turned down by my manager with reasons such as money is involved, folks are resistant to changes. Well, if my proposals aren't appreciated, why hire me? Might as well get a technician and save the company some cost.
There can never be improvement to the company if these suggestions are never even taken into consideration. Now I understand why this position gets headcount replacement 5 times over 4 years.
Culture & Management of this company is totally screw up! Just my luck that I signed contract with the agent that I've to work a minimum of 3 months else I'd suffer penalty of a month wage. I gonna wait till 5th Aug and inform them not to confirm me. Period of notice before confirmation is 2 weeks whereas after will be a month. Who cares about the after confirmation increment. I just wish to get my butt outta this damn place. 2 more bloody months to endure, let's pray I'd survive.
One of the manager from my previous employer contacted me. That's cool, inviting me back to assist him. High chance that I'd consider going back. Woot! Further updates till I meet up with him and discuss on the package.
